I stumbled on another card challenge and really excited to be inspired. This one is brought to you by TGIF Challenges. A new card challenge is uploaded each week, and it's a great way to have some fun, and get creative. This week is a card sketch challenge, and here is my entry for the challenge this week.
I have also entered this card into the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge SUOC#341. This Challenge is up and running for the month of December, and is all about Christmas. If you would like to take part in this challenge, click on the link above.
For this sketch I have used a Cherry Cobbler card base with a double mat of Basic White and Joyful Specialty DSP (metallic gold woodgrain).
For the centerpiece, I used a double mat of Basic White and Shaded Spruce, and the 2 panels I used the Joyful Specialty DSP.
The front panel I embossed a stamped image from the Joy of Noel stamp set in Gold Embossing Powder and used Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce on an Acrylic Block, mixed with water using the spritz bottle, and coloured the image with a small brush. This image was then die cut with the Joy of Noel die set, along with some small foliage in Shaded Spruce cardstock. I then popped all this up using Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals, and spruced it all up with a bow made from the Elegant Trim in gold, split some of the fibers from the off-cuts and applied with Mini Glue Dots.
The sentiment was embossed with Gold Embossing Powder, fussy cut and adhered to the bottom right hand corner of the card.
To finish the look of the front of my card, I used 3 of the Adhesive-Backed Star Trinkets.
Now, I am not one to leave the middle of my card naked, so I added a mat of Basic White, and added a triple mat at the bottom with the gold and green designs from the Joyful Specialty DSP, separated by a strip of Cherry Cobbler, before embossing with gold the "Making Spirits Bright" sentiment from the Joy of Noel stamp at the bottom of the card above the DSP strips. I really feel this finished my card off perfectly.

DeleteLove this card and your use of gold everywhere makes it so special. Heat embossing is my favorite technique. I love the look of the inside of your card. That gold sentiment right above a strip of DSP is perfect.
